Lance Berkman Named NL Player Of The Week

After a week in which he batted .417 with six home runs and had two 2-homer games and 12 RBI, Lance Berkman was named National League Player of the Week.

Five other Cardinals also were nominated for Player of the Week: Matt Holliday, Colby Rasmus, David Freese, Kyle McClellan and Albert Pujols.

LB is the second Cardinals player to be honored already this season. Jaime Garcia shared the NL Player of the Week title with Starlin Castro of the Cubs two weeks ago.

On behalf of the LB Fan Club, Lance, congratulations!

  1. Best news? He doesn’t even have to SHARE his honor with someone else. Nice to see him being loved by all you Cards fans after his numerous years irritating you wearing a ‘stros uniform 🙂

    • I know — he was SO annoying! Hated the way he always killed us! Obviously, that opinion changed quickly.
