It was one of those nights where the Cardinals were on. And thank goodness!
After two losses to the Cubs, the Cards pulled out a 6-2 win over their rivals.

Yadier Molina
The scoring got off to a good start as Jon Jay and Yadier Molina hit back-to- back homers in the second inning. In the fifth inning, Albert Pujols blasted his 31st homer of the season. In the sixth inning, Yadier knocked his second homer of the game — for only his second multi-homer game of his career. Surprise! It’s nice to see Yadi with his homer swing on!
Jake Westbrook earned his 10th win of the season. He pitched seven innings, striking out three but giving up two earned runs on seven hits. A good performance for Jake. Jason Motte and Fernando Salas did a good job in relief by allowing no hits.
The Cardinals head back to St. Louis as Carpenter and the team face the L.A. Dodgers. Aaron Miles will make his return to St. Louis. I wonder if he will get a warm reception?!

Aaron Miles! I would absolutely give him a standing ovation were I going to be there tonight. (Of course, easy to say since I won’t be.) But I did give him a standing O last Aug. 3 when he came to bat in the ninth and was announced as “pitcher Aaron Miles”!
Amazing that was Westbrook’s 10th win.
How did your co-workers like the Theriot bobble head?! 🙂 lol
