Cards Lose To Reds 11-8

The one positive from Friday’s 11-8 loss to the Reds? The Cardinals didn’t give up.

This cute child needs the Cardinals to defeat the Reds. Don't upset the child.

While David Freese and Matt Holliday each had home runs and the team was their signature scrappy selves in getting on base, the five runs Chris Carpenter gave up in the second inning proved to be a tough hurdle to jump despite moments where the team was able to tie things up.

It was ugly and made worse only by the Brewers come back over the Astros, 8-2. Meaning the Cards are 8.5 back again.

Here is Matthew Leach’s story at Cardinals.com.

And you may have noticed that Shane Robinson is with the big club. Lance Lynn was moved to the 60 Day disabled list and Shane Robinson took him roster spot. Here’s some more information on this move. We’ll just have to look forward to having a healthy Lance Lynn back next season.

The Cards will play the Reds again this afternoon at 3:10. Here’s hoping for a winner for the Cardinals!
