The official 2011 World Series film, documenting the epic run by the St. Louis Cardinals to their 11th World Series championship, hits stores next Tuesday, Nov. 22.
Even better? If you live in or near St. Louis, you can attend a red-carpet premiere hosted by Major League Baseball, the Cardinals and Budweiser next Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Peabody Opera House. Members of the Cardinals family and other VIPs are scheduled to attend the premiere. Tickets start at $15 and are available for purchase here.
The World Series DVD was created by Major League Baseball Productions and features behind-the-scenes access, never-before-seen footage and exclusive interviews with all the key participants. This film is part of a tradition that dates back to 1943, when the U.S. State Department commissioned Major League Baseball to create a highlight reel of the World Series for troops fighting overseas.
Narrated by St. Louis native and Mad Men star Jon Hamm, the official 2011 World Series DVD can be pre-ordered here (DVD and Blu-ray), along with the eight-disc collector’s edition that includes all seven complete World Series games.

Okay, *just* had a chance to watch that trailer and, um, WOW! I had chills before the end of the first sentence. Just surreal thinking back on all of that. Every time.
