Freese Homers And Waino Is Bueno

The Cardinals defeated the Marlins 4-2 Sunday afternoon.

David Freese hit his third homer of the spring with a three-run blast off Marlins pitcher Rob Delaney in the eighth inning. It may be spring, but a Freese homer does make one rejoice! Just a little! He drove in Lance Berkman and Adron Chambers. Freese was the designated hitter in the game allowing Daniel Descalso to get some playing time in at third.

Adam Wainwright pitched four innings, striking out one and give up one hit. A run did score during his time on the mound. It was not an earned run for Waino due to an unfortunate throwing error by Dirty Dan. Hey. It’s Spring.

Here’s more on the game from the Post-Dispatch.  And here’s a little something from Cardinals.com on the win.

The Cardinals play the Braves tomorrow at 12:05 p.m. CT at Champion Stadium.
