I like Mitchell’s high socks, and it looks like he’s gained a few pounds in five years too. However, I also like the way he got out of the jam he got himself into.

What’s even better is that now the post is topical, what with Strange Facial Hair getting out of the eighth without incident and getting the game to Motte in the ninth.
I was hoping Boggs wasn’t going to give up something like eight runs in a third of an inning.
Although in a reverse psychology Viva El Birdos way, that ugliness would have been appropriate, too.
And another thing …
It’s five in a row, the longest winning streak of the year. And five ties the longest winning streak of last year, too. Doesn’t it seem weird that with all the winning in September 2011, the longest winning streak still was only five?
It does seem like they should have won more than five in a row last September. Or maybe at the end of April 2011.
