Graham Womack of Baseball: Past and Present has spent the last month collecting votes to determine who might have the honor of making up what he’s titled an “Inner Circle” of baseball’s Hall of Fame. Here’s how it worked.
Between June 18 and the morning of July 15, 235 people submitted countable ballots to rank a 50-player Inner Circle for the Hall of Fame. Anyone was eligible to vote, the only requirements being that people vote for exactly 50 players.
To announce this Inner Circle, Womack recruited quite the lineup of baseball writers to sum up the characteristics (and, of course, statistics!) that make these men the best of the best.
No surprise to Cardinal Nation, our own Stan Musial and Bob Gibson made the cut. Christine and I had the privilege of contributing our thoughts on these two great Cardinals.
