Lance Berkman Back To The DL

Well, this is not a surprise after last night’s ninth inning — Lance Berkman went back on the disabled list again today, due to inflammation in his right knee.

As Rick Hummel of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports:

Berkman, who had knee surgery in late May, barely could get out of the batter’s box in his last at-bat on Thursday in Denver.

Berkman, who earlier was on the DL for a hamstring injury and the knee injury that required surgery, will be replaced on the roster by today outfielder Shane Robinson, who has been with the big league club most of the season and was recalled from Class AAA Memphis. Robinson will be in center fielder tonight here against Milwaukee.

In the good news department, both Yadier Molina and Rafael Furcal are back in the lineup for the Cardinals tonight. Yadi had X-rays done and no break was found.
