Cards Split Giant Series

The Cardinals earned the series split with the Giants with a 3-1 win.

Lots of stuff to discuss! Let’s do this!

* Adam Wainwright. Nice to see him FINALLY get some run support, huh?

Waino pitched seven innings. He struck out seven batters. He gave up five hits, one earned run and three walks. The Giants got their lone run when Marco Scutaro hit into a sac fly allowing Joaquin Arias to score.

Wainwright now has a 10-10 record on the season.

Not bad when you remember how he pitched during his first few games.

Waino Es Bueno!

* The Line-up. Carlos Beltran hit his 27th home run of the season. He knocked in Allen Craig who reached on a force out. In the sixth inning, Craig was out on a sac fly allowing Jon Jay to score, bringing the score to 3-1.

* Tyler Greene. Prior to Thursday’s game, Tyler was traded to the Houston Astros for a player to be named later or cash considerations. The move comes after a game Wednesday night in which he was booed after striking out and making a costly error.

Even Ryan Theriot was surprised by the boos!

It probably didn’t help matters when Tyler was asked about the booing during a post-game interview Wednesday and responded that maybe fans shouldn’t go to the games and rather should just cheer for their team. Real smart thing to say to Cardinals Nation!

As he was packing up his things for Houston, he was observed whipping out his journal and pink pen. Here’s what Tyler had to say:

After one bad night
It seems I’ve lost the fight
To Houston I go
I’m even more a Cardinal foe

* Next Game: The Cards head to Philadelphia to take on the Phillies. Kyle Lohse takes the mound for the Cardinals. Roy Halladay takes the mound for the Phils. Game time is 6:05 p.m. CT at Citizens Bank Park.
