Cardinals NLDS Game Four At A Glance

Unfortunately, the Cardinals will see you tomorrow night.

The Nationals tied the series with the Cardinals at two games each with a walk-off homer by Jayson Werth in the bottom of the ninth inning to give them a 2-1 victory.

It was a tight, close game — each team only had three hits, with the Nationals taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second on an Adam LaRoche home run and the Cards tying it on a Carlos Beltran sacrifice fly in the top of the third.

Yes, Jim Joyce’s strike zone was terrible.

No, Kyle Lohse wasn’t — he gave up the homer and only one other hit in seven innings while striking out five.

No, Mitchell Boggs wasn’t either.

And Lynn battled through a 13-pitch at-bat with Werth before giving up the homer.

So now we have Game Five tomorrow night — yes, a night game in this series at last — starting at 7:30 p.m. Central Time. It’s a rematch of Game One, with Adam Wainwright facing Gio Gonzalez.

The winner, of course, advances to the NLCS to face the San Francisco Giants.
