Lance Lynn started out the game spectacularly. He made it 3.2 innings by striking out six hitters.
Twitter was hyped up with cries of Lynn-sanity!
But then came the last third of the fourth inning and Lynn’s usual woes returned as he gave up four runs.
What made matters worse for the Cardinals on Friday? Their bats were asleep!
The Cards were completely shut down by Barry Zito and lost 5-0. The Cards remain ahead in the series, 3-2, heading to back to San Francisco for a Sunday night game.
The Cardinals have the man they want taking the mound with Chris Carpenter. Ryan Vogelsong will pitch for the Giants.
Game time is 6:30 p.m. Central on Sunday at AT&T Park.
