We learned one thing with today’s news release on 2014 theme nights for the St. Louis Cardinals: they are not superstitious.
Or perhaps they, like all of us at Aaron Miles’ Fastball, are big fans of position players pitching and are hoping to see that again. Because Star Wars Night, a theme night from last season that definitely ended up being one of the worst games of the year, is back again.
Please do not let Shelby Miller start the Star Wars Night game on July 9, Mike Matheny. Especially becasue Rob Johnson is no longer around to pitch the final inning. (Nor, sadly, is Aaron Miles.) Thank you.
Anyway, the team today announced details for the initial schedule of Theme Ticket events for the upcoming season – including the return of Star Wars Night, of course, as well as Mizzou Night plus the addition of Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day – which are on sale now at cardinals.com/theme.
(Will the Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day game have the green jerseys and green caps? Am I ruining a surprise they have planned by guessing that?)
“Theme Tickets offer fans a fun, unique and special VIP way to enjoy Cardinals baseball while celebrating a shared common bond,” said Martin Coco, Director of Ticket Sales and Marketing. “We are excited about our lineup that builds upon our successful launch last year, and we will be adding more events soon.”
Theme Tickets are customized promotions that allow a select number of fans to celebrate a common interest while enjoying access to a unique promotional item and/or an exclusive pre-game event. Targeted around different occupations, organizations, communities, celebrities and more, Theme Ticket events let fans take in the game in a whole new way.
In addition to Star Wars Night, the 2014 schedule includes additional returning favorites like Mizzou Night, Illini Night, Bosnian Heritage Day, Gardening Night and more.
Additional Theme Ticket events will be announced throughout the 2014 season including College Nights, several celebrity bobbleheads, Career Day and many more
