Jon Jay Bowls For Charity, Take Two

By the time January rolls around, most baseball fans are itching for spring training to get underway. But, for the players, there are plenty of off season plans to squeeze out of these final weeks before they head to Jupiter.

For Jon Jay, that, once again, means scheduling in a little bowling along with a few of his closest, superstar friends.

Jay’s 2nd Annual Celebrity Bowling Challenge is scheduled for January 26 at Lucky Strike Lanes in Miami Beach, FL. This year, the funds raised will help support the local Boys and Girls Club — an organization in a community very near and dear to Jay’s heart.

I am humbled and proud to be able to give back to the community who has given me so much over the years and this event would not be possible without your support!

Last year’s event raised more than $25,000, thanks to the support of Jay’s MLB pals, as well as the local attendees of the event at Lucky Strike Lanes.

According to the event website,

Presented by FMSbonds, Inc., the evening will include a red carpet arrival with cocktails & hors d ‘oeuvres followed by two hours of bowling with some of today’s biggest and brightest MLB stars. There are only a limited number of tickets being made available to the public.

Tickets for the event are going for $100 per individual, or $450 for a team. And, a few lucky bowlers could find themselves paired with one of the celebrity guests for the night.

But, before the bowling begins, there is that red carpet entrance. So, if you plan to attend, be sure to break out your best pair of shoes — we all know Jay will be rocking some killer kicks. Then, guests will wine and dine before hitting the lanes and showing off their skills in hopes of winning one of the awards to be handed out as the night comes to a close.

Though the night is sure to be one filled with fun, friendly competition, it all comes back to one Miami native using his success to give back to a few thousand others.

“I played baseball at the Boys & Girls Clubs for years, so I am thrilled to give back to an organization that has meant so much to me,” Jays says.

Tickets can be purchased at the official event website. So, grab a team, reserve your spot, and take a run at the Celebrity Bowling Challenge crown!
